EVO 04 and EVO 06 are Technora-reinforced racing laminates developed in collaboration with Dimension-Polyant, specifically to create a lighter, stronger material optimized for high-performance Code Zeros. Built with a lighter skin and a fiber layout tailored for reaching and tight upwind angles, EVO delivers lower stretch, lighter weight, and cleaner flying shapes compared to polyester laminates like PXB. The Technora structure allows these sails to hold flatter entries, point higher, and maintain power with less heel across a much broader wind range. EVO sails can also be built with a Structured Luff configuration, significantly lowering tack loads, opening tighter apparent wind angles, and creating faster, flatter Code Zeros and J0s capable of pushing deep into upwind territory.

EVO is the right fit for racers who need serious performance from their Code Zero, whether it’s designed for broad reaching, tight reaching, or full J0-style upwind angles. It’s ideal for boats up to 60 feet looking to extend their Code Zero range, reduce heel, and carry flatter, faster shapes across a wide range of apparent wind angles. EVO offers a major step up in structure and responsiveness without the full investment required for membrane sails, making it an excellent choice for high-performance racing inventories.
What Are the Limitations of EVO 04 / 06
While EVO represents a major step forward in performance, it’s still a laminate-based sail, meaning that over a long, hard season, Technora laminates will still show some shape change under extreme use. Teams chasing ultimate structure, durability, and aerodynamic refinement—especially those pushing Code Zeros into true upwind loads—may eventually move to E-Tech Composite or Element Composite membranes with Structured Luff for maximum performance.
