Dimension-Polyant CZ Silver is a lightweight hybrid material designed specifically for cruising Code Zeros. It combines a woven nylon base with a laminated Technora scrim to create a sail that’s stronger than spinnaker cloth but lighter and more flexible than full laminates. The result is a forgiving, easy-to-handle sail that offers improved stretch resistance and shape retention over nylon-based fabrics—while remaining light enough to furl easily and trim comfortably on cruising boats.

Who Should Use CZ Silver
CZ Silver is a great fit for cruisers who want better shape and range than Stormlite or spinnaker nylon, but still prioritize simplicity and soft-handling characteristics. It’s especially well-suited to day sailors and coastal cruisers looking to carry a Code Zero over a broader wind range—without the stiffness, complexity, or higher cost of full laminate sails. It works well on continuous-line furlers and trims easily without demanding fine-tuned controls.
What Are the Limitations of CZ Silver?
Although CZ Silver performs better than woven cloths, it’s still a hybrid with limited structure. As the sail loads up, particularly when sailing at tight reaching angles, it can stretch and lose its designed shape. This reduces efficiency and limits how close to the wind the sail can be carried. While it’s a step up from Stormlite, it still doesn’t match the shape-holding or pointing ability of laminate or membrane materials. It’s a versatile, user-friendly cruising fabric—but not a performance-oriented Code Zero solution.
