Dimension-Polyant CZ Silver is a hybrid laminate that blends a woven nylon base with a Technora scrim to create a stronger, lower-stretch alternative to traditional spinnaker cloths. It’s designed for racing Code Zeros where light weight, clean furling, and improved structure over pure nylon are priorities. CZ Silver delivers better stability and pointing ability than spinnaker fabrics while keeping weight low enough to stay effective in light air and maintain easy furling on continuous-line systems.
Who Should Use CZ Silver
CZ Silver is a good fit for racers looking for an affordable, entry-level Code Zero that still performs well on broader reaching and moderate tight-reaching angles. It’s especially effective for smaller boats or programs where budget matters but furling reliability and sail control are still priorities. CZ Silver is also the only racing Code Zero material that can be launched straight out of the bag without requiring a furler, offering flexibility for programs that want to hoist and douse like a traditional spinnaker. While it provides better structure than spinnaker cloth, it does have limitations under higher loads and tighter reaching conditions compared to higher-performance Code Zero fabrics.
What Are the Limitations of CZ Silver
While CZ Silver is stronger and flatter than spinnaker cloth, it still has notable stretch under load, especially at tight reaching or upwind angles. This limits its ability to point and maintain a flat entry as effectively as higher-end Code Zero materials. For boats looking to maximize range, reduce heel, and push tighter apparent wind angles—especially for J0-style sails—moving up to PXB, EVO, or E-Tech Composite is recommended. CZ Silver is a great entry point but not the solution for programs aiming for maximum upwind efficiency.
